Description: Prerequisite: Placement score below 250 on the WebCAPE Spanish placement exam or no previous study of the language. An introduction to the fundamental elements of the Spanish language within a cultural context. Emphasis is on the development of basic listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Upon completion, students should be able to comprehend and respond to familiar topics in spoken and written Spanish as well as demonstrate cultural awareness.
